We were in contract with a home; the mortgage broker completely screwed up my entire mortgage, stated I was getting a gift, gave me a wrong GFE (off by $9000), the list goes on. Now we were forced to get out of our contract and rescind the mortgage because we did not feel it was justified to pay an additional $9,000 over what we were originally quoted and frankly we were not dipping into our retirement to make up the short-fall to close. The sellers gave us a hard-time saying we forced the mortgage to be declined because we didn't want the house anymore (which is ridiculous b/c a bank isn't just going to do that)....long story short I had to give the seller's "a booster" in order to get my down - payment back. I want to report the mortgage company - completely unprofessional, would not accept blame, was asked for the same paperwork 3x's, lost things..I can't.
