ok butt/tailbone/lowerback pain?

I'm 14.5 weeks and sit at a desk all day. The past week or so, my upper butt/tailbone area is sore with a dull mild pain. I get like a very mild jolt of pain in that area once in a while all day long. I admit I don't get up as often as I should. Even when I'm home sitting on the couch, even laying on the couch, I get it. And if I lay down on the couch at a weird angle, my vaginal area goes numb.

What gives?

If the pain only lasts a second, I got that too around the same time. It calmed down a bit as I progressed. Not sure what it was or why it stopped.

it's a very dull pain on and off for most of the time I'm sitting, more on my left side. Then all of a sudden a jolt of more pain that last a second. maybe I should try sitting on a pillow

If it's constant, I would definitely call the doctor. lower back and tail bone pain, combined with rectal pressure could be a sign of preterm labor. I don't mean to scare you AT ALL .. but if it doesn't go away I'd just put in a call to the dr to be on the safe side. Granted, I'm currently being treated for preterm labor so it's on the forefront of my mind, but when I went in and found out it was happening I had NO IDEA .. It's just good to know the symptoms and inquire about anything you're unsure of. Feel better!

I agree with this.. LOVE my ball and it takes

the pressure off your back and hips..great

for stretching too. My back didn't start to

hurt till the 3rd tri. I do floor exercises that

help and keep my posture.

ok butt/tailbone/lowerback pain?

Hi!

For my first pregnancy I had the achey tailbone area but it only lasted for the first tri. This time around I'm still dealing with it and am nearing the end of my 2nd tri. My OB says it's the bones stretching. My DH massages around the area which helps. I haven't used a heating pad yet but was told that can help too. I'm not sitting at a desk all day like you but I am moving around a lot with bending and lifting (work at a daycare). Some days it doesn't bother me at all and some days it does. There have been times I'd get off the couch and go to walk and would get the jolt. I feel your pain.

ETA: have you Googled "posterior pelvic pain"? Not sure if it's what you have (or myself) but it explains the different joints in that area and why they hurt during pregnancy.

I get that when I sit too much and or when I lay at a certain angle. When it happens I just move around. Besides my exercise ball I knee on the floor and lean my upper body against my ottoman. Pulls the uterus down and stretches my back out

i did look into that, but I didn't know if it was too early for that? I'm 15w tomorrow. I also heard that the growing uterus can put pressure on your tailbone
