anyone have a desk job?
I'm 37 weeks and plan to work up till the end...MY c-section is scheduled for May 28th and my last day is the 24th, given that the 27th is memorial day....
Anyway I'm so uncomfortable sitting at my desk typing at the computer. I'm a therapist so when I have patients it's not as bad because I can lean back a bit, but I have a lot of paperwork to get done before I go on maternity leave so most of my day is spent typing....anyone else have this issue? I hurt right at the bottom of my belly where I bend, OUCH!!! Any suggestions on how to alleviate some of the discomfort?

Not sure if this works for everyone but I was literally laying down at the end. I leaned the chair back as far as it would go, stretched my arms out to type, and kept my legs stretched out on a little platform. I drove leaned back like that too lol

Okay I just tried it and although you are right, it does feel more comfortable, I have no idea how to work like that!!! haha! I need to be able to read reports and look through files as I type! I lowered my chairs as recommended in your related post, but it's not doing too much....DANGIT!!! Maybe because I'm already 37 weeks it's a lost cause!!! 2 more weeks of work and then I'm done!!!

Re: anyone have a desk job?
I work as a Front Desk Receptionist. I do not know when I am going out, but I wanted to work up until the end as long as I am able to. Not sure if I am going to be having a C-Section. I think probably by Week 35 or 36 I will take my Maternity leave. As for discomfort, I was having problems with the damn chair I had. So now I have this big comfy executive chair at my desk, plus I brought in one of my cushy pillows from my living room couch for the back support. It works wonder since my boy is leaning into my ribs!

I worked until my due date! But my job is a little different because everything is on a double monitor so what i am reading and i have to input are just on the screens. . .
keep trying different positions!

Re: anyone have a desk job?
I sit at a desk all day....but since I'm behind the desk I sit like a man with my legs spread wide apart and my belly rests on either side of my legs. If that makes any sense.

Re: anyone have a desk job?
Can you sit on an exercise ball in between clients/patients?
That will alleviate some of the stress on your back and hips.
You're almost there!
