I would definitely tell!!!
Look at it this way..if you didn't tell, and then god forbid something happened, you'd prob tell her right? That is how I always looked at it. My mom and sisters knew right away and I wouldn't have had it any other way. What a PERFECT way to celebrate mothers day IMO!

Congratulations!!
We told our parents early both pregnancies. I waited 3 days after BFP with DD and 2 weeks with this one. Both times were torture not telling my mom. I'd tell her.

I would tell her, but NOT on Mother's Day. Yes it's awesome and yes you want to tell her, but having suffered a m/c I always think of that baby on my Grandmother's birthday. What a gift to give her, well 10 wks later we lost the baby. Tell your mom because if God forbid something happened you will want the support. I was glad everyone knew about the 1st baby, but the aftermath of phone calls and questions was more then I could handle. We waited until after the NT to share with anyone else.

Tell her.
I lost a pregnancy at 20 weeks, and I had waited to tell my mom at 12/13 weeks. She was as devastated as I was and made me promise that the next time I got pregnant, not to wait so long to tell her.
So, at 3 weeks 5 days I told my mom with my DS. At 8 weeks with my DD, and this time again at 8 weeks. All healthy pregnancies.
So whether you tell or not is not going to cause a problem in a pregnancy. Tell her for her support, happiness and positivity towards the pregnancy.

I think it all depends on your mom. With my first pregnancy I told my parents and ILs at 5 weeks and told them not to tell ANYONE. This KILLED my mom because she couldn't wait to tell people. Then I miscarried. I was glad I told her because I needed her support as I went through that, but my inlaws couldn't keep their mouths shut- so all these people came up to me at a family party congratulating me after I already miscarried. It was so awkward and upsetting and I regretted telling them. This time I waited until 9 weeks to tell my own parents and around 11 weeks to tell the ILs. we had already seen the heartbeat and the baby moving so I was confident this time around that everything was going well.
Moral of the story- if your mom can keep a secret and it won't kill her not to tell people, go for it! It will make her mothers day! But if you feel more comfortable or are unsure at the moment, wait a few more weeks... at least until you see a HB.

I ended up telling her! We talked a lot about pregnancy and what not but didn't do too much celebrating because it is still so early.
