False positive with digital hpt? UPDATED still BFP
I got antsy and tested yesterday morning (AF is due on Thurs). Clearblue easy digital said Not Pregnant. I've been having some 2ww symptoms that may or may not just be in my head but after being unusually exhausted so early last night I decided to test again today. First I used a dollar store pink dye and saw a shadow of a pink line (right after the 2 minute wait time). So I pulled out another clearblue digital and it says Pregnant! It's only 36 hours later so now I'm wondering about false positives with the digitals. Should I take this positive test with a grain of salt until AF doesn't show up?
ETA: I am 11 or 12 dpo
Update: tested 2 days later and got a clear BFP on a FRER. still feels surreal until i see my OB though. cautiously optimistic!

I think that it was just too early yesterday and now today it is registering on the digital. If AF is due Thursday you are probably around 10dpo. Sounds like you are pregnant!

False positives don't really exist. Most of the time when a girl thinks she's gotten a false positive, it was likely the result of a chemical pregnancy... Sounds to me like you are pregnant!

Yesterday morning was probably too early to test. The digitals are usually not wrong, sounds like you are pregnant!! Congrats!!

honestly, in MY situation, I found that the digitals are much more accurate the closer you get to your period date. For example, I had taken a digital test days before my missed period and got a negative... then I took a cheap equate one that same morning and got a positive. Still unsure, I tested again the following day. Same results. I waited until the day AFTER my period was due and there was the positive on the digital. So my advice is usually to not waste time on a digital until you've actually missed your period because that darn negative is such a let down when you're TTC and they aren't always a true negative, kwim? However, false positives are very very rare. So I'd definitely say that you are pregnant, and it was just too early to test with a digital when you did it the first time.

Thanks everyone for your feedback! I went out and bought FRER and that had another shadow of a pink line. I guess it just feels too surreal to fully believe the digital. I'm going to use my last digital in a few days when AF is due. Once I believe it more I'll be more giddy, haha.

I agree- you were prob too early, or maybe you ovulated later than you thought. I took my first HPTs on what I thought was 11 or 12 DPO but I was prob about 8 or 9 DPO because when I went in for my first sono I was measuring 4 days later than I thought. When I thought I was 15 DPO I had a FAINT positive (I was really 11 or 12 dpo then) you are probably pregnant!
