Re: Ovulation Monitors - Would you recommend? Why/ Why not?

I am using the CBEFM . I have only used it for one month but I think it has been helpful so far. It was in line with my OPK as well as the my temp risings and is fairly easy to use once you get the hang of it. Plus I have heard that it gets you know your cycles after you use it for a few months so you can use less sticks. Sorry, I don't know about any other monitors.

CBEFM user. Also temp to confirm. I can't be bothered with lines and smileys on an OPK lol. CBEFM tells it like it is! No guessing involved! And once you hit your peak, that's all the testing you need to do. I got mine used on ebay for half the price as in the store. I get the sticks every 2 months or so from Amazon.

thanks! still wondering which way to go -opk or monitor. it's too late to use a monitor this month since i'm already 3 days into af. so i will give the opk's a try.

do you use the monitor in conjunction with other methods like cm & temping?

Yes I try to keep cm opk temps and cbefm all in fertility friend. This is my first month using all of them. On cd10 I got a positive opk, and on cd11-12 I got peak of the cbefm. I also saw a rise in temps starting on cd10 and some Ewcm and watery cm at the same time. Its good to know that at least all of the tests and monitors are on the same page. I also got my monitor for half price on eBay and the seller threw in 20 sticks and instructions on how to reset the monitor for a new user.

Eta. Spelling correction

I almost never get CM so I can't go by that. I do temp most of the time... I get lazy during some cycles lol but I've never had a cycle where I didn't get a peak and my temps confirmed O or vice versa where I did get a peak and my temps didn't confirm O.

Just FYI - you can set the monitor up to CD6. But, if you order it on ebay, you won't get it in time for this cycle.

I use the internet cheapy sticks. Very helpful because I have long irregular cycles and would have no clue when I O otherwise, and go through a ton of sticks in the process

I temp and use the CBE OPK. I've heard the ones from the dollar tree are surprisingly accurate as well.
