Sellers want out of the contract
These sellers are out of their minds! They want out of the contract we signed over a month ago. Anyone have any experience with such a thing?

Sellers want out of the contract
my parents had this happen
the people were only selling because they could not afford the house and after they were contract - they received inheritance and wanted out. My parents let them out of the contract. It ended up the best because then a much better property for them came on the market that they bought - my mom always said it was good karma to let them out of the contract
It is up to you to let them out but forcing the sale can also be expensive- - it may just be best to get cost of lawyer and inspection from them and walk away -

Happened to us too and it was for the best.
Ultimately, we would've ended up in a house in a neighborhood that was eh at best with a home that needed complete renovations, and was not in move-in condition.
We also learned later that the house got broken into a couple of times.
We were just out our time and the $400 or whatever it was for the inspection.

It didn't happen to me, but this would be my thoughts... it's happening for the best. The house that is right for you is out there. Granted...when you're going through this the last thing you want to hear is that so I'll shut up. lol

Sellers want out of the contract
The only thing you can do is sue them for specific performance if you really want the house but to be honest..... You probably would win. You might get some money to cover any expenses you laid out.

I'm pretty sure you can legally force them to sell the house to you..it is a contract. But your attorney can give you better advice.
Personally, I'd want to know what the circumstances are. If they just changed their minds or came into $$ as in the case of a previous poster, I wouldn't cancel the contract without being reimbursed for all my legal fees, mortgage application fees and mental stress/headache.

This is what I was told. "specific performance". At the very least I want the$ back for legal/inspection and appraisal. I was just curious what others have done in this situation. Thanks
