Pic of LR help us decorate...

We are leaning towards navy couches and are stuck on paint.

We are thinking either very light blue, blue/gray, grey or white...thoughts, I know I have asked before I think a picture will help though. Chat Icon

Any other suggestions on decorating this room, we are fairly clueless Chat Icon

I love the idea of adding pattern into a space, to break up the main color. Like a chair in a complementary pattern

Something like this:

I also love accessories in the same color - Nate Berkus has great items at Target and Zgallerie is another great place

I also like blowing up b&w pictures to the same size and framing them like in the pic below. I love the blue matting and the pillows in different shades of blue's and sizes.

Love the placement of the decor on the fireplace in this picture

that's a beautiful room. and i think i have the same ceiling fan!

i agree, if you do navy couches I would do a chair or something in a great pattern.

I always prefer "warm" colors over "cool" colors so I would get a striped rug or something in great jewel tones, and keep the walls a neutral color, maybe one accent wall in a sage green.

Oh and in case you wanted to get rid of the ceiling fan, I think a statement piece like a big drum shade. You could them either solid or with pattern -
depending on how daring or 'loud' you guys are...lol

If not I would replace the wooden fan with a white fan. If thats the accent color you plan on going with.

Re: Pic of LR help us decorate...

I would go for a grey beige to still keep it warm. Is the room huge. Or is that the pic? I also wonder if you can mount the tv above the fireplace and figure out some better seating areas?

Love the Drum lighting. Be careful with gray paint, could feel cold.
Picked a Silver for my DS's room & it has slight blue undertones... turned out to be the most relaxing room in the house simply because of paint.
Definitely white crown molding to make everything pop.

Do you also have a den, or will this be the main living space in the house? If you have a den, I might make this room more formal with cozy seating around the FP.

Gorgeous room!

I had a fireplace similar. I used Edgecomb gray by BM, it is perfect. Warm but taupey. I also used Revere Pewter which is much more gray but still very warm, not cold.

These would be my paint suggestions to you.

Great room! Is this your main living space and do you plan to keep the wall unit?

This is Theron LR no den until we finish the basement so it has to be nice but also comfy. We aren't keeping the wall unit, we are gonna mount the tv on the wall I think but since its a large space I think we have to put something there...

I would start with how I want the room to function. For my family that would mean room for play, crafts, reading and media. We would need storage for all mentioned. A small table for games, crafts maybe homework. Comfy seating for watching tv, moveable seating that can cozy up to the fireplace and some extra seating that can be tucked away and pulled out as needed.

If it were just DH and I we would skip the game table and add a bar.Chat Icon. How will your family use this room?

We have a small sunroom off the kitchen that will be DS's playroom so this room will be just a LR to watch TV, I see us doing games and crafts in the sunroom which is right off the kitchen/dining room so most likely that will happen at dining room table.

It can hang on the stone you just need to have someone install for you unless your DH is handy. I'd probably do a big comfy sectional on that side of the room and then a separate seating area in the front part of the room. Like 4 big arm chairs with a round ottoman that could be used for extra seating or a coffee table with a tray. Beautiful space

Re: Pic of LR help us decorate...

I would mount the tv opposite the bay window ( basically where it is now) or put it on a low stand so you can store all the components.

center your rug off the tv

Place the sofa and love seat facing each other just off each end of the rug put a sofa table behind the sofa closest to the double window and add two ottomans under it that can be pulled out for extra seating or foot rest

Add 2 chairs one that's on wheels so it can face the tv or move to the fireplace, one that is designed to watch tv.

I have a floor plan but can't figure out how to post it. I can email it to you if you want to see it.
