oct vacation is 1yo?
We want to go on vacation in October. Our DD will be 1. What do you think would be better: cruise the bahamas 5 day or Disney World 5-7days?
TIA

Cruise, bc you and DH can enjoy it. She is still too young to really enjoy Disney. I would take the trips that me and DH can enjoy now bc once she gets older they will prob. be geared towards her.

ITA. although I don't think cruises allow the kids into those kiddie camps until age 2, but I do think they offer babysitting at times if you guys want to do dinner or something on your own.

Depends which line. It's definitely something to look into if you want a break. I believe Disney cruises have child care for all ages.

Would it be warm enough for swimming? I honeymooned in florida at the end of october and it was chilly. I'd like to take the baby into the pool if we did a cruise.

Re: oct vacation is 1yo?
We did disney with Ds1 when he was 22m. It was a great vacation.my ils were with us too.
We just did 3days at disney followed by a 4 night disney cruise. We went with our 5yo and 2yo. It was a great vacation. Best of all worlds we all had a great time. The babysitting nursery was for 6weeks to 3yo. And it was $6 per hour. The sitters were really sweet and patient with the kids. We only used it for 3 total hours but it allowed us to have a fantastic dinner out. They have a kids sprinkler area that the little ones loved, castaway cay to was a great beach day island was so nice and so easy to go back to the boat if need be. All the characters were accessible on the ship. The shows were really entertaining. Food was good and all the staff literally bent over backwards to be helpful. The whole family is talking about the next cruise.
My new reason for loving the cruise vs wdw with little ones is the ease of being back in the room in 5 mins for nap or bedtime. We had a balcony so dh would drop older day at kids club and then dh and I would relax on the balcony while younger ds napped.
I will say that my younger son, is wild and very active so disney with him was crazy. Whereas my older day was much more calm and I think that made a huge difference. Bc wdw was just too much with him.
Eta on no cruise will you be able to take a baby in swim diapers in the pool it's against the rules on all ships. We spent a lot of time with Ds in the sprinkler area and then swimming at the beach.
We once did disney the last week in October and it was 95 degrees. You never can tell!

That's not going to be an option on any cruise. You would have to find a ship with a splash ground.

Thanks ladies! I didn't know that about the pools but I guess it makes sense. I think I'm going to look into the disney cruise for our vacation! We haven't been on one together since our honeymoon and we will be married 5 years this august! So we are really looking forward to this.

I would do a cruise. I think it will be more relaxing than Disney. We are booked for a 5 day Bahamas cruise on Disney Cruise line for November. DS will be 14 months. Their nursery accepts babies as young as 3 months.

Hey!!
Cruise totally! I would 100 percent get a balcony, so you can bring a little baby pool on there during the day and you will have a separate area to go while she naps or goes to bed. Disney has more options then any other cruise line for babies. They do not have a casino though. Check out...www.cruisecritic.com
Be careful when sailing out of NY..the waters are rough. If you do sail during a rough time, get a cabin in the middle of the ship.
I wouldn't do a long cruise, I would do five day at most!
So exciting! Oh and there are times you can get kids sail free! Just sign up for the news letters

Re: oct vacation is 1yo?
It depends on the kind of vacation you want to have. Disney World is exciting and fun but tiring at any pace, and a cruise is going to be much more relaxing.
I love the idea of a Disney Cruise for the best of both worlds. As others have posted, no child who isn't fully potty trained will be allowed in pools on any cruise by law, but Disney cruise line in particular has great splash zones.
The nursery is also a great idea for you two to enjoy some adult time. One thing I love about Disney Cruise Line (that you might not think about) is that because it's such a family friendly cruise line, the adult areas are rarely crowded, so if you do intend to leave DD in the nursery a few times, you won't have to fight crowds
For a special anniversary meal, I recommend Remy if you're sailing the Dream or the Fantasy. DH and I have dined at many top restaurants, including at Chef's table and Remy remains the most memorable meal of our lives.
