Chemical Pregnancy
Hey All,
I was posting in the Pregnancy Chat but turns out I am no longer pregnant - my Quant levels have been dropping and I've been spotting since Wednesday. I spoke with my doctor's office today and they said that it just didn't take - which I am OK with (especially since we weren't even trying anyway). They want me to go back later this week to retest the Quant levels and make sure I'm back to negative and I was asking when I could expect this all to be done - I haven't been bleeding really, just spotting - not enough to hit the pad even. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this and if they had an actual period after (they said I might not) and how it went - I would have been about 6 weeks when the levels started dropping.

Re: Chemical Pregnancy
First off so sorry for your loss. When I had my chemical back in Jan it took about 4 days after my levels dropped to get my AF. It was a heavy one. Assuming it was because of the chem. had a lot of clots(sorry TMI). I assumed everyone gets a period since the lining has to be shed at some point

That's what I figured, but the woman at the doc's office wasn't really forthcoming about it. She said I might not... and all I could think is how could I not?? All of that lovely stuff needs to be cleared out at some point. Thanks, Really appreciate it!

Re: Chemical Pregnancy
Sorry for your lost- I had a chemical earlier this month at about 6 weeks- I bled heavily for 4 days and my doctor said to consider it my period. So according to that I am now ovulating. Since we just started TTC I am not using OPK's or anything like that. If you have questions I would definitely call your doctor- I had never even heard of a chemical pregnancy before mine and so i was completely in the dark. Good luck and hope your stay is short on this board

I was about 6 weeks too... I haven't been bleeding at all (at least, not yet) so far it's just been spotting, with some clots (TMI, sorry). My doctor's office has not been helpful at all.

Re: Chemical Pregnancy
I think just spotting is normal as well - everyone is different and my doctor said it could range (aka clots to no clots etc) if you find your doctor is not helpful it may be time to find a new doctor (you don't want a non-helpful staff or doctor when you are 8 months pregnant and have 100 questions every day)...If you are concerned I would request an appointment or find a new doctor who will help you. Like i said I had never experienced this before so i had lots of questions and thankfully my docotor called me for three days after I started bleeding to check in on me and answer my questions. (she even called me between deliveries when i first called in to advise that I started bleeding!) You deserve a good doctor who will answer your questions.

Yeah, I'm definitely changing doctors. I am trying to get as many recommendations as possible.
Also, were you really thirsty? I have never been so thirsty in my entire life, I'm downing 4 - 5 24 oz bottles of water a day for the last 2 days.

I'll pick some up after the gym today. Now that I know it's over, I'm getting my butt back to the gym - I've missed it the last few days.
