I just got some from Home Depot 2 weeks ago.
They range from 1-2 dollars a box. They have 4 different sizes

When we moved, we bought plastic bins - best idea ever. Helps with keeping things secured and makes moving so much easier. They are always on sale too.

Re: Where did you get your moving boxes?

I've gone to liquor stores and libraries. They tend to receive heavy items and the boxes hold up well.

Re: Where did you get your moving boxes?

People give away moving boxes every day on Craigslist!
Go to the free section and search through there. That's what we did, and we got way more moving boxes than we could have ever hoped for, plus they were in great condition because the people we got them from had just bought them from Home Depot. Plus they threw in 2 moving blankets and a box full of packing paper. I'm telling ya.... keep an eye on Craigslist.

Also, if you call grocery stores they'll usually hold boxes for you.

Lowes for bigger boxes but the majority we got from Staples. We bought the white banker's boxes in 5 packs. They stack well and are super strong.

Also I know it's trashy, but when we moved, we put a lot of our items like clothes, blankets, pillows, towels and such in the large contractor bags that HD sells.

DH always has these on hand because of his business but I know they are not super expensive for a huge box.

We do this too. For stuff on hangers, I zip tie the hangers together and pull the bag over them, tying at the bottom. Then when we've gotten to the new place, just cut a hole in the bottom of the bag, hang the hangers on the rail and take the bag off

Also, our movers said leave stuff in our dresser drawers, then they just wrapped plastic shrink around it all and took it out in one piece for all our dressers

I got a ton from Old Navy. call and they tell u when they are getting a shipment. you can pick them up the next day. they are good bc they are all the same size and easy to stack together.
