Who should I tip in a salon?

I just went for a hair cut.

Price - 26 dollars

I tip the hair washer 3 dollars

I also tip my hair cutter 5 dollars.

There was a woman who helped me with my clothing (put them alway), and help me put on the robe. Do I have to tip her too?

I think what you did is fine (although I always have the same question too). I don't think you have to tip the person who helped you with the robe or whatever they had you wear

okay ...in salons if you want to tip you only need to tip the shampoo/assistant and the stylist/colorist.

general rule of thumb is for the stylist/colorist...15 to 20% of service

assistant...depends... if they assist with color and other chemical services or just one shampoo...perhaps 2-5 dollars
(or up if they are amazing or always are the girl that assists you )

no need to tip anyone else :)

and btw thank god to those amazing clients who actually do tip well....thank you thank you!!!! you would be verrrrrry suprised how little or no tipping goes on out there!!!

What if you are getting color and blowout with different person? How do you divde the tip between the colorist, shampoo assistant and person who did blowout? Do you give the colorist 20% of the whole total or 20% of what the actual cost of the color was.
