Color scheme for Living room w/poll
Our home has a large living room, basically when they redid the home they made the living/den one big great room. The basement is not finished so for the time being the LR is our main hanging space.
We are trying to decide on a color scheme.
Choice #1 is; navy sofas, creme walls, white, green/yellow, accents
Choice #2 is: a light blue wall, grey sofas and then other pops of color.
We are very undecided, we are nervous we will tire of the navy couches so feel the grey is more neutral if we decide to change the paint...
thoughts? other ideas? thanks

I like the idea of a navy sofa and cream walls. I like that the couch will be the main focus in a color like that.
My only concern with that is are you going to love the navy in a few years? It's a color that will grow old on you, especially on such a big piece of furniture.
I would only do this scheme if I don't spend a lot of money on the couch, where in a few years time if I'm sick of it I have no qualms about getting rid of it. Or I had a finished basement and could put it there for use.

Thanks girls.
See we are nervous we will get sick of navy and we are planning on keeping the couches for a long time bc we are spending a lot on them...so that makes us want a grey (muted color) but we do love the navy.....

Even though I love Navy I know a couple of people who went that route and ended up replacing the couches a couple of years later. I would go with the grey sofas and then work the navy and yellow into the scheme with pillows, vases, etc. to give it a pop. Expensive things I always go neutral them build onto them.

Ditto to the PP if you think you're going to get sick of it.
I know I'd get sick of the blue walls before the blue couches. So I'd do the light gray walls with dark gray couches. I just don't like blue rooms (my master is blue and I HATE it - changing it to gray soon).

We are doing a navy, yellow and gray living room. Navy arm chairs, a neutral sofa, yellow patterned rug and yellow and navy accessories.

I'm voting for the navy scheme- I love the way green, yellow and navy go together and secondary consideration is T and any other kids you guys might have- much easier to keep a dark sofa clean looking

YEs to keeping it clean, we would do a dark grey if we went that route

I think I would do the dark grey. Since you said they are expensive and would be long term I would go the more neutral route. You could always do a navy chair and still do accent colors in pillows and art work.

We have a room with tan walls and a navy couch with yellow and lighter blue accents and its my favorite room in the house! I would never get a dark couch again though bc it shows WAY too much animal hair!! But if you dont have any animals go for it
