Prenatal yoga questions
1- How far along should you be when you start? 2- Does anyone know places in mid-suffolk that offer it?

Re: Prenatal yoga questions
I started at 14 weeks. If you start in your first trimester there are certain poses you cannot do so I would wait til you start your second trimester

Re: Prenatal yoga questions
I *think* you can start whenever. I've been following a prenatal yoga video on gaiam.com and there are 3 different women there who each represent a different trimester.
The poses are the same, just some modifications are made depending on the individual and trimester they are in. (This one adds props such as blocks and a chair for the 2nd and 3rd trimester). Obviously headstands, and anything flat on your back and stomach are a no no.
As long as you let the instructor know how far along you are and you listen to your body and only do what feels right then you'll be fine. I couldn't start until my 2nd trimester because every time i leaned forward I felt like I was going to be sick.
If you can't find a place that offers prenatal yoga then maybe check with your doc's office and or hospital that your delivering at.
