lactation consultants
how does this work? we got a list of lactation consultants from the breastfeeding class we went to.
so if I needed help, they would come to my house and help? what is their fee? does insurance cover their cost?

I was able to find a LC that is a pediatrician also so it was covered under insurance since it was an office visit (although there was a copay for both DD and myself). Not sure how it works otherwise.

Mine came to my house. Fee was $165. We paid her in full and put a claim in to our insurance for reimbursement. I don't remember how much was covered.

I plan on looking into this tomorrow. I would check with insurance before making an appt with one. I'm pretty sure I read that my insurance covers 6 visits with a lc

Insurance should cover it...however there are several members of La Leche League who are LC and will help you for free. Esp if you go to a meeting. (you can even go while still preg)
