VBAC ladies - how late will your Dr. let you go?
I plan on asking this at next week's appointment but wanted to get a feel for the average answer here... if you're a VBAC candidate how long past your due date will your Dr. go before they just schedule the c-section? I think my Dr. said a week during a previous conversation but don't remember exactly....

I was going to VBAC and VBA2C with #2 and #3 but they would not let me go past my due date at all. I ended up with all c/s anyway bc all three of my kids were transverse and wouldnt turn.

It was discussed with my OB and she said they won't let me go past my due date, but ultimately decided on a csection based on other factors.

Re: VBAC ladies - how late will your Dr. let you go?
Im 40 weeks and still trying to figure that one out! I most likely i will find that out today. I *think* my Ob will let me go to 42 weeks. He hasnt brought it up, but has said things like " if you go to 42 weeks the baby will be in the late 8lbs which is normal" but his main advice is trying to not let the baby go past 8lbs which so far so good. I have alot of anxiety about this because i went to 42 weeks last time. Also if he demanded I book a c-section at 41 weeks, id probably laugh at him and flip him the bird so i hope it doesnt come to that! I am not doing it under no circumstance unless my uterus or placenta is rupturing or the baby is truly in danger but luckly i think my OB thinks along the same lines being he is a rare vbac supporting doctor. But then again at 40 weeks he might flip the switch on me so Ill update what he says when i get back from my appt.

They are pretty open about going late...my friend with the same office had a vbac last month at 42weeks 3days.
So from that I'm guessing awhile after...

Re: VBAC ladies - how late will your Dr. let you go?
in my specific case they will only let me go to 40 weeks. I asked for 41 but OB said no. I developed preg-induced hypertension at week 35 last time and had a failed induction. Developed BP problems again already (only 19 weeks) and so they won't let me go past.

I had an appointment scheduled on my due date and we would've scheduled the c-section then had I not gone into labor before then.
So, probably 41 wks

At my appt. today, no progress at all and Dr wasnt phased just said " see you next week ( 41 weeks)" and never once brought up the dreaded C word. Im upset that theres no progress but then again relieved he is being patient .

Assuming everything was ok with the baby and I, my practice would let me go two weeks post dates. I had my VBAC baby 11 days early Good luck!!

I was allowed to go up to 1 week past my due date. She ended up coming all on her own at 38.5 weeks.

My doctor was going to let me go two weeks past due before a csection,,,,however I had to be monitored every 3 days to check on the baby and see how big it was. If it got too big she wasn't going to let me go that long.
