Cleaning foam playmats
What do you use? There are wood floors under the mat. Can I use a steam mop? Or would I need a liner under the mat? Like maybe cheap indoor-outdoor carpet cut to size underneath for moisture?

I would take it all apart and wash each square in a bucket of soapy water and DH would dry them. I would clean my wood floors underneath while I had the mat up. With the two of us doing it, it wasn't too bad. I should also mention I didn't clean the mat as often as I prob should have.

We have the larger squares so we scrub them in the shower.

ooh shower- good idea! I feel like I should do it often now because they plant their mouths on it all the time. Gross.

Cleaning foam playmats
i honestly never even thought of cleaning them! I vaccumed over them the other day for dust and hair, but that's about it. I should probably clean DS's toys more often come to think of it. I'm a terrible Mommy!

Really never "cleaned" them like crazy. I guess I just wiped it down with a baby wipe now and then or used the lysol wipes. That was it. Funny bc I'm a neat nut and mop, vaccum, etc all the time, but never thought of really cleaning the foam letter mat in the bath or anything.
Unless one of the boys was sick I just wiped down the toys now and then too.

To clean, I fill my tub with hot water and pour a small amount of bleach. I rinse that then follow that with a soapy bath. Rinse that, then lay them out to dry. I do this only. 3-4 times a year since we have 110 of them to do
