Disney...time of year for low crowds?

Everyone tells me that the weeks after Thanksgiving/before Christmas are good weeks to go to Disney because of low crowds...but I read somewhere that those weeks have become very popular now. We're hoping to go to Disney in 2014 for our first trip...we're not sun or heat lovers, so we'd love to go when the weather is cool and comfortable...the low crowd factor is really our biggest priority...anyone have any suggestions for what times of the year we should look into going? TIA for any suggestions!

After thanksgiving to before Christmas is a good time to go to avoid the crowds. That time if year is definitely gaining in popularity but since there are no school breaks then its pretty quiet. Some other times: January (right after new year) through presidents week in February. April after Easter thru mid-may

I went once in early december and it was pretty crowded.
Went Halloween week and it was empty.

Heard from friends that early January is dead!

Hi...We are Disney Vacation Club owners, and I will say, the time after thanksgiving up until Christmas is considered value season ( it uses the lowest amount of our points), so it's a busy time for DVC members to visit! Honestly, I still don't think it's too crowded at all. We are able to come off a ride and go back on within 10 min again! The weather is usually beautiful, low to mid 70's, and at night, it could get pretty cool sometimes! It's decorated absolutely gorgeous, it's our FAVORITE time to go!

We went the week of November 30 this year and it was really not busy at all. It was still pretty warm though, just as an FYI.

Martin Luther King week is a great time to go. Weather is cool and there are hardly any lines.

I've gone a couple of times in September, right after school starts, but not during the Jewish Holidays - I figured very few people would take their kids out of school right after it started. Its always been empty - could pretty much get right back on whatever rides we wanted to

We just went in January.

Tuesday after MLK day was a little crowded but other than that it was PERFECT. Next time we will go in January again but avoid that week.

So my vote is for January/early February avoiding marathon weekend, and MLK day.

I believe there is a website that shows historic traffic activity, i.e. how many people entered the parks, for each day of the year.

It's great in September right when school starts (even the last week of August), BUT last time we did it, it was 100 degrees EVERY day - not good if you want to avoid the heat.
