Summer Mommies
DS is due in July and I have a bathing suit question. Both of my other boys were winter babies so I didn't have to worry about a bathingsuit.
Should I buy a maternity bathingsuit for after the baby or go up a size or two in my regular size? Or just wait to buy one? Any recommendations for tankinis?

Funny, we have a pool and I hardly go in. Lol
DS was born July 8th. I think I wore a tankini the few times I did maybe sit out or just stayed in a tank and shorts. Lol
We didn't go to the beach that summer anyway bc I didn't want to bring him there yet, but I did go to the waterpark, our pool or friend's pools and kept the baby in the shade. DH took my older DS in the pool.

I bought a maternity one from motherhood maternity. Even wore it after my dd was born. I recommend it i found it comfy.
I have friends who wore bikinis but i just wasnt comfy with that.

I'm due July 19th...I don't think we'll go to the beach much this summer, but we'll probably be at the pool every day...I am planning to wear a bikini until I have the baby and I'll probably wear one of my tankinis afterwards...I've never been pregnant in the summer, so I don't know how I'll feel about it once it happens.

I agree.
By the time I was allowed to go into water, there were only a few weeks left of summer so there was no point to buying anything new.

DD was born the end of april last year so I had at least 2 months before worrying about a bathing suit. By then I was able to wear the top of a tankini suit that I already had and I just bought a new bottom to go with it. I got a plain black bottom one size up at Kohl's (which I'll probably still be in this summer, lol).

That's what I did for water play in the yard With my older child. DS was born in late July. Didn't go in pools though and by the time I felt comfortable, the season was over.

ITA. I think I just wore a regular tankini top or tank top with shorts the few times I went to the beach.

I'm not a water person to begin with but I love the beach and just sitting out. So I was more just looking for ideas of what to wear while sitting out with the kids. I dont want to be in tank/shorts at the beach. Everything could change by then and I may feel so gross that I don't want to go to the beach but just throwing it out there.
