9/11 Births
For those of us that are at or very near our due dates, what's your feeling on having your baby on 9/11, this coming Monday? For some reason, as I told DH, I think thats when I'm going to have this baby. Personally I think it would be such a positive thing to associate with that day but I wonder if the number of scheduled c-sections etc are lower on Monday because of the date?

Re: 9/11 Births
my nephew will turn 3 on Monday, Septemebr 11th. While the date does stir memories, that's when he decided to join the world. There was no way to avoid it and I think you just have to go with it. There will always be something in history you can associate your birth day with, good or bad.

Re: 9/11 Births
Funny you bring this up...if i do not go before then, they will start inducing me on 9/11 which i didnt want for obvious reasons...but my baby cousin was born on 9/11 last year, and like my mom said...its nice to have something positive to celebrate instead of mourning every year..
I wanted to be induced on 9/12 but they couldn't fit me in then, too many scheduled c-sections and inductions already taking place. That tells me people are definitely avoiding this date for a reason! Oh well.

9/11 also happens to be my 7 year anniversary w/ DH. If it happens that day, it happens. Nothing I can control.

Re: 9/11 Births
Perhaps not the same due to the passage of time etc. but my DD was born on the day the US bomed Nagasaki. There are probably babies born all over the world on Hitler's bday, on Pearl Harbor Day and yes, on 9/11. There is nothing more beautiful than a new life. I look at it like breaking a glass at a wedding ... something to remind you that there is sorrow in the world so that you appreciate the beautiful things that much more.
Happy almost b-day.

Re: 9/11 Births
I've been thinking about this for months. It's 9 days before my due date. If I should have the baby early, I'd really rather not have it on 9/11.
I know it would be nice to be able to celebrate new life on that day, and there is nothing I can do about it, however, I get really upset when I think about it.

Re: 9/11 Births
DH and I have talked about this as well. I am due on 9/13 but don't feel like I am going to make it that long! I would be OK with it because it would be nice to celebate something on that day rather than always look at it with sorrow.
