moms of 2 years olds please help
DS just turned 2 and holy cow I am ready to jump off of a cliff! It is a CONSTANT battle with this child...he is being fresh, and now has started to do alot of hitting. I am seriously at my wits end with him. It's so hard bc I have a 5 year old and the little one is htting him, and now hits me too. We are always showing him "nice' and telling him that hands are not for hitting, but quite honestly, it's getting out of hand with my older son. I know it's not the right thing to do, and it teachers nothing, but I really want to tell my older one to whack him back once or twice....any advice?????

Just started time out for 2 minutes, then a brief, "we don't hit" talk. I also model "nice touching" right after it happens

You're doing the right thing, I'd just keep at it!
My DS isn't much of a hitter (knock on wood!), but when he's being fresh, he goes right into time out. It seems to be working well... You just have to be consistent every single time. We're at the point now where he knows he's doing something wrong and sends himself to time out lol. Hang in there, it's definitely a difficult age - my DS is 27 months.
