Daycare moms of 2 years olds??
I see that when it is nap time they dont use cribs, they either use mats or cots. The place we are sending matthew uses cots....how do they nap in them? I dont know if Matthew will nap in a cot when he still sleeps in a crib...?

The facility we send DS to has cots and he did fine.....Because he did so well, we just converted his crib into a bed...I dont think your DS will have a problem...he should be fine

My DD started her current daycare at 22 months and had never been on a cot before and did wonderfully and believe it or not, she does not use a binky to sleep at school but always does at home.

Diane, when my daughter moved up to the toddler room , I didn't think she would stay on the cot - but she did - I guess she saw all the other kids doing it PLUS by 12:30, their nap time, she is exhausted - she would've slept anywhere without moving. I have a nap blanket from lillian vernon with a little pillow and she loves it !

My DS started sleeping on a cot @ daycare when he was about 15 months. He did fine not being in a crib. I always want to stop by during my lunch time to see how he sleeps on it. Like someone else said I think by 12:00 they are so tired they will sleep anywhere on anything.

At that age, at our daycare, they are all on cots.
Honestly, you will be surprised what he'll do at daycare. I know kids that eat certain foods at daycare that they won't at home, they don't bang their sippies at daycare, etc. I think it must be something about "the group" mentality... no kid wants to be the only one not doing something... they just all do it.

At daycare, DD transitioned out of a crib & onto a cot at 18 months. I was absolutely convinced she would not nap on a cot. I thought she'd be walking around and never lay down. I was wrong. She naps beautifully on the cot. She is now two. I am hoping that will make the transition to a bed at home easier.

The cots are fine with DS. He naps better at school because they all do it so it.
Right now at 19 months he sleeps on a toddler bed for naps, crib at night and cot at school.

Bella will be 3 in September. She has been sleeping on a cot since around 20 months or so and sleeps like 2 hours a day there.
She is still sleeping soundly in a crib at home...so it's been great for us as we know that when we finally make the trasnsition, she will be fine!

They started my DD on a cot at about 15 - 16 months. Never in a million years would I think she would. BUT she did. She actually sleeps better on the cot than her crib at daycare. At home she's still in a crib.
I actually went for a surprise visit today and she looked so cute all cuddled up on it!!!
