our hot water heater pilot light keeps going out - like when we noticed it this morning it was the 3rd time this month alone, which seems a little ridiculous (not to mention inconvenient). my husband had spoken with our plumber a year or so ago and said that he replaced the pilot light, but it keeps happening and is getting progressively worse. my husband said that the only other option at this point is to get a new hot water heater, which we obviously don't really want to do.

anyone have any suggestions of other things we can look into? tia.
