Thanks ladies. I'm at the doctors office waiting now so I guess I'll see what he says! Honestly, I eat my fruits and veggies but I also eat chips and ice cream. Who knows, if the doctor isn't concerned, I won't be either!

Re: Ok, can we talk weight gain for a second?

This happened to me too. I got to week 17 having only gained 4 pounds.... when I went for my next appointment at 21 weeks, I had gained an additional 7 pounds on top of that in just three weeks & all of a sudden my clothes don't fit. I feel like it happened overnight! Unfortunately I just look fat, not pregnant.... so I'm trying to hide the fat until I have a true bump that I can show. Very frustrating, I know how you feel!

Well, I finally just got home after waiting for two hours.

He said nothing. Didn't even mention it!

Re: Ok, can we talk weight gain for a second?

I am due the day before you, and I have gained almost the exact same amount of weight in the same exact way! I also gained about 7 lbs since my last appt, and 13 total so far. The Dr said my measurements were right on track and that I looked great weight wise, so whoo hoo!

The same thing happened last pregnancy, I remember gaining weight in spurts and getting freaked out, and then I would have a period where I gained less. I lost it all by 3 weeks post partum, so I am trying not to stress too much about it. The body gains what it wants to sometimes!

Then I would not even think 2x about it.

Beleive me if the Drs think it is an issue they will mention it.

Don't worry - your body will do what it needs to do and everyone is different.

I lost four pounds from BEFORE I was pregnant lol which was the last time my Doctor had weighed me (over the summer at my last regular appointment). So, once I got pregnant he weighed me at around eight weeks and I had lost four pounds overall. I was like Chat Icon I mean, I know I didn't have much of an appetite the whole first trimester but still.

So, I just went yesterday - I'm almost 16 weeks now and I'm exactly the same I was at the 8 week appointment! Chat Icon I keep feeling like something is wrong b/c I"m not gaining anything but the Doctor keeps saying, don't worry, you'll catch up! Chat Icon I'm like oh great.

But he did say that my weight and everything is just fine right now so I guess it is normal.

If your Doctor isn't worried, you shouldn't be Chat Icon

My doctor tells me the same freakin thing. When i asked about weight gain he said, "well your definitely not ahead of the game, but you'll catch up!" I have definitely caught up now at 31 weeks and just under the dreaded 200lb mark!!1

Don't worry so much about your weight. While pregnant I gained 53 lbs. By the time I left the hospital I was down 25, granted I had a 10 pound kid, but still. Within 3 weeks I was down 40lbs. Now 3 months out I have 10 to go. The hardest 10 to lose.

I gained 60lbs. Started at 125lbs and am 5'2". In the beginning I only ate carbs bc of my nausea. Then second tri, I ate better but still gained. Then I was like screw this, and ate what I wanted. I was always SO hungry when I was pregnant. I could not stop eating. My dr was never concerned and I mentioned it to him several times.
By 4mos pp I had 15-20lbs to lose. By 1yr I'm under pre preg weight. :) don't stress.

At 22 weeks I'm up like 20 lbs. I've had two weeks where I gained 5 lbs. pretty much without explanation. As in -- they weren't bad eating weeks.

Otherwise, since about 12 weeks it's been like... 1/2 lb here... 1 1/2 lbs next week, etc.

I really don't eat that bad... and I'm still eating tons of fruit and veggies and oatmeal.

Trying to watch myself though. A few weeks ago I had friends from out of town and we basically did a tour de food lol ... lots of NY pizza and bagels. Haven't had any since.

Also cut juice out.

My main vice is cereal. Of any kind. I have like two bowls of cereal every day as snacks Chat Icon

Re: Ok, can we talk weight gain for a second?

So funny bc the last time I was just looking up old posts from the last time I was pregnant. I said that I only wanted to gain 15-20 lbs Chat Icon and by the time I gave birth I had gained almost 40!!!

I cannot let this happen again so I am making sure to write down everything I eat (not to diet, just not to overindulge) As easy as I thought it would be to lose after DD (I bf'ed for almost a year) I did not reach my "prebaby weight" till almost Christmas of this year!

I think 14 lbs is really not bad at all. At this point in your pregnancy you will probably start gaining more.

Good luck!!
