slow closing toilet lid now not slow closing?
has this happened to anyone? all of the sudden i went to close the lid and it slammed shut! is there something i can do to fix it or do i need to buy a new seat?

I think it depends on the seat but we called the company and we need a new one. We have to bring the old one to one of their dealers because there is no way of knowing what model it is.

slow closing toilet lid now not slow closing?
That happened to ours too. If you try to force it down instead of letting it close on it's own you break the mechanism (my 7 y/o DS did this). Ours happened over time but it could happen suddenly. We had to get a new seat.

This happened to us too. We have a Toto toilet and after about two years, the lid no longer soft closes. The actual seat still does though.
I keep saying I should call the company, but I never seem to get around to it.
