DD was about 11 months. She was a little peanut though - probably only weighed 17 pounds at the time.

Both of my boys are on the smaller side. I switched DS1 at 7.5 months because he didn't seem comfortable in it any more. He was much happier in the convertible seat. DS2 is 8+ months and still happy in the infant seat. I'll switch him once the weather gets warmer.

I switched DD at 9mths. If you really prefer to keep her in the infant seat and plan on having more kids than I would buy another infant carrier if not then I would just go ahead and buy the convertible

This is what I was thinking. If you're pretty definitely having more kids, then it would be easier to justify buying an infant seat. If not, I don't think it would be worth it and I'd suck it up and switch to a convertible.

I'd love another baby. Dd was an Ivf baby after 2 years of trying so while my vote is yes I guess for me is I am not fully positive of possible.
Or what if it took a couple of years. Don't the car seats expire too?

I want to say it was well before 1 year, it was around the fall when she was about 10 months-- once she started wearing coats the seat was way too tight and she was getting too tall for it. It also depends on the size of the infant carrier and your child obviously. Our carrier's limits were low and DD was above average in height and weight. I wish I had gotten a bigger size infant carrier and may the second time around however, although DD would fall asleep in the car once the car stopped she would wake up.. so I never took much advantage of the snap and go in terms of her sleeping in it.

DS 1 was 10 months and DS 2 was 7 months (both were moved due to size).
I had the Snugride 22.
I wouldn't go out and get a new one at this point in the game. It's a lot of $$ for a short period of time and you are going to have to buy a convertible eventually anyway.

At this point, I wouldn't buy an infant seat. Personally I'd just buy the convertible. DD will be 6 months, she's a pretty big girl so I'm contemplating switching her at 6 months or at least when the weather is a bit better. Right now I hate carrying her in the infant seat.
