slow down follicles (UPDATE)

I went in this morning for my CD 10 monitoring after 50 mg clomid. I have a 21mm and 17mm on my right ovary and nothing on the left. The problem is, my lining still needs time to grow. I usually only have like a 15mm on day 10.

This was my first back-to-back clomid cycle... wondering if maybe there was still some residual clomid from last month making things grow faster. I thought for sure this cycle would run later as I didn't start clomid till CD5.

Oh well... hopefully my follicles will still be good come trigger time. Chat Icon

UPDATE:
Went in today, Monday, CD 12 - I have 2 x 20mm follies (not sure why they told me those numbers the other day or i misheard - apparently it was 17 and 18). But... my lining is not good - only 5! I asked if there was anything i could do to help that (thinking estrogen patches) and the PA said "nope". They are going to try to hold off trigger until tomorrow but if my bloodwork shows im starting to surge today, i'll have to trigger today. I feel like this cycle is a waste b/c my lining is so thin. Damn clomid. Oh well, definitely taking next month off to let the clomid get out of my system.

There is a possibility you will ovulate earlier. What day do you usually ovulate? I wouldn't worry too much about the size. I was told they can get as big as 30. What did your RE say?

slow down follicles

The nurses didn't say anything really except that I have 2 nice follicles and my lining isn't ready (I think it was a 6) - didn't see or talk to RE. They called a few minutes ago saying to come back Monday for monitoring. I usually ovulate around day 14/15 on clomid, but i'm thinking maybe day 13 this time. We'll see how everything looks on Monday. I have no EWCM yet which I normally have by this time when i'm going to ovulate on day 14/15 so not sure what's going on. Every cycle is different and it drives me crazy!!

If this cycle doesn't work, we are taking 1 month off b/c I have to travel in April for work so hopefully everything would be back to 'normal' for the next cycle.

Every cycle is different. I usually have my IUI on cd14 and last month it was on cd12! Was not prepared for that one. I go back myself on Tuesday and either wed thurs or fri I will have my next IUI. Good luck !!!!

Re: slow down follicles

Those are good size folicules. Same thing happened to me when I was on clomid 50. Everything was looking great except my lining, I triggered on day 12 and day 13 and 14 was the IUI. My lining was a 7

This cycle we switched to injectables, a side effect o clomid is thin lining.

Re: slow down follicles

Wow, what beauties!!! Good luck to you!!
That is def something I was told with back to back clomid.. the lining will start thinning. Hoping it thickens by monday. It really sounds promising! I think clomid can def stay in your system. I was taken off clomid this cycle bc of an unresolved follicle from last cycle. But, I have one follie on each side without meds.. so the clomid is def still in my system. They are small though bc my estrogen is a hot mess from the giant follie cyst. I am also going back monday (cd10) to see where I am at.. Hoping you get good news and can trigger!
