Coconut Oil Rave

So, I have always suffered from dry skin and nothing gave me much relief. I have been reading about the power of coconut oil and decided to try it out. It works like a DREAM on skin. My skin has never been so soft. I used to feel dry and itchy and that is all gone now. I buy Nutiva, organic extra virgin coconut oil and put in right after a shower. I even used a little bit on my face and it made it so soft. I definitely recommend it.

ok question...for those of you using coconut oil on your skin...are you using cooking coconut oil? like in a grocery store? or is there another type to put on your skin?

Yes- I was in Trader Joes and all set to head for the health/beauty aisle when I saw the jar with the rest of the cooking oils.

My DH picked some upf or me in whole foods last night--I told him to check both aisles & he said the beauty aisle only had products contaiing coconut oil, but the oils section had pure coconut oil.

I will try it this weekend.

Yeah, they say pure, unrefined coconut oil is the best for the skin and this is the cooking oil kind.

Stupid question..... If you use it in the shower, does it make the shower slippery?? Chat Icon

Yes it does. That's the only thing I don't like about it.

Coconut Oil Rave

It liquifies at 70 degrees. Rubbing it between your hands is enough to make it liquid. If you just take some as a solid and rub it on your face, hair, body it immediately be eps liquid. No need to heat or cool

Re: Coconut Oil Rave

I use it before shampooing, for shaving, as a moisturizer for face and skin. I looooove this stuff!!!!

I use Nutiva for my beauty product and trader joe one for cooking. I use it instead of oil when I make pancakes. Tastes awesome!!!!
