Shower on 4th of July weekend?
Basically, due to other things going on I'm left with 2 days in July for my shower, July 7th and the 27th. I know 4th of July is on a Thursday so I don't feel too bad having it that weekend on a sunday but what are your thoughts?
FYI, the majority of the people I know don't go away that weekend.

Personally I hate events on the weekend of the 4th, but thats just me....

As long as you know people will be around then why not have it then.
If it was me personally I would avoid it.

that was one of the weekends I had to consider too (b/c I only had maybe 3 dates to choose from!!!), and I decided against it. I see you're due 9/7, so personally I'd probably pick 7/27 instead, I think that would make you around 34 weeks then right? I'll be 33 weeks at my shower and I didn't want to push it past 34 weeks from the advice I've had from others. Good luck deciding!

I would personally avoid it. I like to to enjoy my holiday weekends on my own time, unless it's a wedding.

I would do the 27th weekend personally.. a lot of people take a mini vacation for New Years. :)

I would probably avoid it. Even if people don't go away, some people might go to BBQ's that weekend or spend time with family since the 4th is actually during the week.

It might be a problem for some people but honestely you can send your invites ahead of time so they know when your shower is if you really want to have it that weekend

Do it when you want to, so long as all the people you really want to be there can make it. How far along will you be on the 27th?

34w that day. I also have a bridal shower the following day where I'm the MOH.
