Had 1st Internal , excited but bummed
So a day shy of 37 weeks ,1st I had my weight ultrasound, baby is 6lbs 7 oz ( which is considered basicly average) the tech said he is super low , his head positioned perfectly and said" youre def gonna go early!" She is not one to sugarcoat things so I trust what she says. So 2 of my 3 worries were eased. I was worried he was high up ( a problem I had with my daughter) especially because my lungs ad chest feel abnormally crushed but she said it's all the fluid on top. I thought I was going to have to religiously bounce on my excerise ball to get him down but luckly it's not a issue now. And because I went to 42 weeks last time Im terrified of the anxiety of going overdue again but it was a relief to hear someone confident that it was going to happen before 40 weeks. Oh and I was disappointed I didnt get any good last ultrasound pics, she is a rather unpatient tech so refuses to put a effort into getting a decent pic unless it was just there.
As for my internal exam, I was praying I was at least 1cm- anything but sealed shut but yup Im sealed My doctor must have skinny fingers (I didnt check them out but he's a big guy so assumed it going to be bad) because the exam wasnt uncomfortable at all thankfully. He said everything was thick and sealed close but that the baby was indeed low and he could easily feel him turning his head while he was doing the internal He wasnt worried about the weight even though in the begining he told me he wanted to keep the baby under 8lbs ideally for my VBA2C ( and I had two 8 and change babies so I figured it wasnt too hopefull) to my surprise he said " If you go to 42 weeks again, the baby will be in the late 8 lbs again which is okay" In my mind I was going " To 42 weeks???You would allow that without threatening to section me!?!?" I mean the thought of going overdue sickens me but happy he has never brought up a deadline or an " Or else..." last alternative. So my big goal now is just getting the dilation going, I brought up methods in how to help that along and his only suggestion that is proven to have an effect is Easier said then done, even " trying" to is like a bad joke So yeah, here starts the weekly dilation anxiety check! However I am grateful he is nice and low for when I do start to dilate , it could be worse. I keep telling myself " 38-39 weeks" he's coming- I dont know if's my maternal gut feeling or just wishful thinking.

good luck!!! I know how you feel. I'm 37w1d today and had my 1st internal. I'm not dilated but was having contractions every 3 mins on the machine(mind you without me even realizing it!)
Hang in there!
