Please tell me that DD trying to roll over during diaper changes is just a phase
She seems to be trying to learn how to roll from back to belly and has been trying to do this when I'm changing her - can get very messy! Plus it makes it hard to get the clean diaper on her properly bc shes squirming all over. Is this something she'll likely stop doing once she learns how to roll over and it becomes less interesting for her, or is this how she'll be til she's potty trained?  I try using the safety strap on the diaper pad but it doesn't seem to slow her down any.

Not really a phase. Once they can move- that's it!
Try giving her something to hold. I give DD her little hairbrush and she stays still.

Not really a phase. Once they can move- that's it!
Try giving her something to hold. I give DD her little hairbrush and she stays still.
Yep. I give her something to play with while I change her.

This! My twins were the same way until recently and my 6 month old is constantly squirmy. I get so caught up in trying to get the diaper on before he rolls away and pees on me, that the diaper is usually upside down at first

It's a phase that lasts a loooooong time!
You also will get better at diapering a moving target!

Nope  Not going to stop anytime soon. If you can give her something to hold and play with, she'll probably be more cooperative. GL!

DD was doing this at the doctors office too! I told the doctor she was showing off. I'll have to remember to give her a toy when I'm changing her. Sometimes she plays with her feet but if she looses interest she tries to flip and yes it gets messy!

OMG I feel you--- I swear sometimes by the time I am done changing him I am sweating and feel like I just worked out.
I ended up just giving up and putting a couple of diapers on upside down a few times.

This phase will last about 2 years more, so don't worry... The light at the end of the tunnel is potty training.
I stopped changing DS on the table when he almost fell off while I was holding him down with one hand, using the other to get the diaper ready, etc. Now I change him on the floor, with one leg over his chest,all while enthusiastically singing Old McDondald like a stark raving lunatic.

Got the summer infant changing pad with toy bar which really helped. Ds loves grabbing and shaking the toy bar which keeps him facing upwards. The bar can go out of shape but ds still loves it at 12 mo!

I hate it but if I really need her to calm down, I give her my phone
Sometimes she'll be ok if I just sing to her & give her a book.
It's rough but she did poopy & pee pee on the potty this week so there is an end in sight!
