no internals?
i had my 38 1/2 week appt today and still no internals. I'm a little annoyed haha. As much as I don't want one, I would like to know if there is progress.
I was VERY crampy last night, like on and off like contractions and 1 strong tightening one. I told her this and she was like I don't like to do them b/c it can stir things up. I was thinking that's what I want. I have 1 week to go, it's not like it's bad.
With dd they started them at 36 weeks.
Have you ever heard of no internals? Maybe next week?

My OB started them at 36 weeks. My 4th one is tomorrow. I am with you..........stirring things up at this point is all good in my book.

right as much as they are a pain and uncomfrotable, Just try and put me out of my misery 1 week early. geesh, haha.
Even the nurse thought I would get one. So werid.
My dr with dd even stripped my membranes a few weeks early to help it along. Didn't work but I think it would this time around. I'm kinda annoyed hahahaha

My midwife doesn't think it's important and I don't push it. It's not really an accurate source of information and could cause unnecessary anxiety. I don't want to be told too early that I could go any day and then it doesn't happen. I also don't want a false sense of security that nothing will happen and it does.

yes this was a midwife. Maybe that's why. I'm due in a week and a half so I know I'm go at any time anyway. I want to know progress at this point. I know I could go after my dd, but I still wanna know.
With dd I was 1 cm for probably 2 weeks and it didn't bother me haha.

It really doesn't tell you anything progress wise. You can be high and shut tight now and deliver a baby tonight. I begged the midwife for one (with membrane stripping) at 41 weeks and it was a little disheartening to hear that I was only 1cm and very posterior, so membrane stripping wasn't that effective. I'm okay with not having one at all anymore, not even during labor. I cringe at the thought of a hand up there and the info isn't going to do me any favors anyway!

I didn't have internals during my last pregnancy either. My ob said he doesn't do them until the very end to maybe stir things up. I didn't have an internal until I was in labor at the hospital and I was so happy I had not had one before that bc omg did it hurt!!

It's true though, it doesn't tell you much. With my DD, I was not dilated AT ALL, nothing at all was going on down there. That night at 2:30am, my water broke. So things can change quickly. Hoping the same thing happens with this baby.

I know they are not a guarantee on anything I just wanted to know If anything was happening. I was dialated with dd for a week or 2 and still went 2 days before my due date.
I was having on and off cramp like contractions last night just really low in the belly and was like this could be it. So I am wondering if its a start to something. That's all. Mine didn't hurt last time.

I was going to ask them to do one on monday since I was 37.5 weeks but they were running so late and I was late for my high risk appt so I didn't say anything.
I decided...it is what it is. This baby will come when it wants and nothing is going to change that.
Hoping what you are feeling is it for you

Thanks I was crazy crampy very low in the belly again last night. And this morning I think I was having BH. Didn't have them with dd, but I felt/saw my upper belly tighten then relax in the shower. I'm guessing this is all labor related just waiting on the when is it really going to happen haha
I was more annoyed yesterday that the nurse said she was going to check, I got undressed and the dr was like nope haha.
All well, it will happen when the baby is ready

Isn't all this waiting torture???? I know I have a week until my due date but it feels like I am 3 weeks overdue. Time is moving at a snail pace.

Mine were at 37, 38, 39, 40 and 40w3d... At every appointment it was either nothing or 1cm... it didn't stir anything up (being I had to get induced) and only resulted in spotting and cramping for a couple of hours after the appointment. I say be glad!!! LOL!!!

I am so uncomfortable. Nothing fits me anymore, I feel like crap. I look miserable too!! An the worst part is..........should this baby go to term I have NO idea how I am going to handle it. My water broke with DD at 39 weeks, and I was miserable beyond belief at that point (like I am now). I can't imagine going longer.
I told my DH this weekend is going to be a whirlwind of spicy food, sex, and walking.............we're getting this kid out!!!!!!!!!

i know I put on my jeans that fit a few days ago and they were tight. I had to change thank goodness it's snowing and we have no where to go and out playdate here got canceled. My shirts don't cover my belly anymore I have to wear a long tank under them.
I think that is my plan this weekend too.

I have slim pickings on clothes as well. Either they don't fit or they have stains across the belly because I am a slob!
