Another Q about telling employer

Is there a certain point where you have to tell them, meaning by X weeks pregnant you must let your job know? I know it's a courtesy to give them a couple of months notice at the least, I'm not suggesting waiting until the end but I was wondering if there was a specific point where I could get in trouble if I don't let them know by then? I'm almost at 19 weeks but don't look pregnant at all.... not sure how much longer this is going to last, but I'm planning to keep it quiet as long as I can... I'd love to go another month or more if I'm still not showing.

Also, how far in advance do you have to have your FMLA paperwork filled out?

Thanks!

I work for a big company.

I don't think there's a legal amount of time where you must reveal..at least, not that I know of.

I didn't fill out any FMLA papers. My doctor did it and I think I just filled out the very basic info or signed it. I did it right when the doc said to stop working and I was at the OBGYN office. They took care of everything. Really nothing else at all.

According to DH, you do not legally have to inform them until you are unable to perform your job to standard.
It is a courtesy to let them know so they can make a decision as to what they will do to your position while you are out. Also, it's a good look to be transparent. It shows you are willing to communicate and be part of a team.

If you want your leave to qualify for fmla, you must provide 30 days notice. Your company should provide you with information regarding what is needed for your leave. You may need to complete a form or simply tell HR. They may require you to have paperwork filled out that looks similar to disability paperwork or require a medical certification, although I believe it really isn't necessary for a pregnancy as that is a qualifying reason for leave and an obvious one.

First pregnancy I told owner during the beginning of the first trimester. This pregnancy I told CEO today. I am 23 weeks.
