Telling employer about pregnancy
DH said that I should tell my HR dept that I am pregnant. WHAT exactly am I supposed to tell them? "Hey I am pregnant just thought you should know"

I didn't tell my boss/coworkers until I was 15 weeks
ETA: I just said "im pregnant" lol

i told my boss at 12 weeks. and then made an appt with HR to discuss maternity leave options

I am HR....my boss knew right away. But she was there when I realized I was late.  
The rest of the company, including the owners found out after my 12 week sonogram.

I told my boss at 16W I am not telling HR until I have to submit paperwork for maternity leave!

I've been wondering the exact same thing... I'm not particularly friendly with my supervisors. I wonder if I have to actually tell each of them or just my immediate supervisor. I'm putting it off as long as I can.

Not really. I have been with the same company for years and have watched many people go out on maternity leave. I know the policy and what is offered.. I am not familiar with the paperwork I need to fill out, but I know it gets filled out much later than 15w and trust that they will provide me with what I need.

this is my thought too. While I don't mind my supervisor, my HR dept is a mess! Not one person in the dept can keep a secret. They have leaked personal info including salary info and pregnant people who are still in hiding.
At work I am still in hiding and plan to keep it that way for another 5 weeks if I can.
