Does your dc whine?

Ds is starting to whine a lot at 1yo whenever he wants to get picked up, finished eating, not be left alone.... It's become a bad habit. Did any of your dc's whine? Is it a phase?

Yes. Both whine and it becomes worse when they are tired.

Yes, all the time. I swear it seems like the day after he turned 1, the non stop whining began.

OMG yes. DS (2.5) whines A LOT!

DD (3.5) hardly ever whines.

Oh yes, there is whining. DD is 18 months and every little thing is a tragedy. At 4.5, there is less whining from my son, thankfully.

DS is 2.5 so yes, he whines all the time, PLUS he doesn't talk yet, so whining is one of the few ways he can communicate with us. It really is constant. Sometimes if we say "stop whining" he will, but it never lasts long. I try not to let it bother me too much, because I know it's his way of talking to us, but GOD is it irritating!!! Here's hoping the phase passes quickly!

Whining just seems to come with the territory. My DD is a few months shy of 2 and her whining has steadily been increasing every month.

My dd was a whiner since she was a small child.

Everything was so dramatic.

I thought she would outgrow it. Nope.

Until I changed her diet.

She is a dream now. A happier child.

Maybe I will post about it someday.

around 2.5-3yrs she started.. or tried to. I nipped that in the butt. It annoys the heck out of me. I realize though that she whines because she's struggling to make herself understood. I tried to head that off by getting her to use her words and I 'try' to avoid her getting to that frustration level.

Doesnt always work but we killed the whining crap early. You want to whine and not use your words you can whine to your pillow because I won't listen to it. She'd either fall asleep or call out "ok, I'm done" and it was like it never happened. (ETA: by whining to your pillow, I mean time out in her room)

I guess I'm boring we don't go out often so that stuff thankfully stays home. She picked it up again 3.5yrs old and after less than a minute I looked at her annoyed and said "Who does that at school?!" "what?" "Whine.. whine whine wah wah wah.. who acts like a baby at school?" she gave me a name. "We well we don't act like that here, now.. use your words.. WHAT do you WANT?"

She's not a whiner much but yes, occassionally she'll slip back and we hop on it. I asked school to help as well and they've reported that lately she's much better at using words instead of crying.

My aunt lets her whine (which annoys me)

Good God does DD whine!
She's 2.5 and it seems like it never stops! I put her in her room or tell her that I don't listen to whiners and when she's done then we'll talk.

lol my 7 month old whines !!! shes been whining since 6 months. drives me nuts
