Hello Wantagh School District Parents, this is Assistant Superintendent Maureen Appiarius.

Please be aware that the school district has received information today from the 7th Precinct that on Thursday afternoon of last week at approximately 4p.m. a female middle school student was approached by a man driving a white van. The man attempted to coax the student into the van saying he needed help finding his puppy. This incident took place in the vicinity of Ladonia and Maple Streets in Seaford. The Nassau County Police are currently investigating this incident.
The 7th Precinct has also informed us that last week a white van with tinted windows was reported idling at a bus stop and following two female students walking home, in the Massapequa area. Nassau County Police are actively investigating of these all reports.

We ask that you review with your child the proper procedures concerning interacting with strangers, and be sure to advise them to be wary of any inappropriate behavior or questions a stranger may pose to them at any time. Working together we will help all of our children to remain safe both in and out of school.

thats where i found it. It drives me crazy they don't post these things further than just their own school. Like people can't drive just about anywhere on this island and steal a child.
