Being sick around newborn?
How does this work??!! I am so afraid of getting sick. I know it's ok for them to get BM and the antibodies in there. But what if she gets sick?
All day I have been soooo cold and can't get warm and my body hurts like when you are sick and I just want to sleep more than normal, But I don't feel sick otherwise. So I'm afraid I am about to come down with something.
How do I protect her from getting sick if I do end up getting some sort of bug?

I BF my DS and he never ever got sick when I was. I don't know if there is anything that you can necessarily do... just wash your hands like a crazy person and take care of yourself.

Call your dr. I mentioned to mine that I thought I had a fever when the girls were a week old. I think it was from let down and/ or exhaustion. I wasnt BF. they gave me antibiotics just in case i was coming down with something.

Just checked. 101 fever. But still don't feel "sick" just bad chills. My lovely DH tells me your not sick. U want to be sick.
Yes cause I can fake a fever. And want to get DD sick.

Last winter when my twins were born, both DH and I got sick. I think it was a combination of everything including being run down. Our doc gave us both z pacs and we had to wear hospital masks around the boys (we had runny noses and were coughing). The boys never got sick. Sorry, getting sick sucks!

Do you have any hard lumps in your breasts? Or pain? Could be mastitis?

ok so you can be sick DAYS before you show symptoms....
thats why we were just always cautious to wash hands before picking up, use antibacterial gel if out somewhere.... ped told us our toddler we could change their clothes and wipe their hands/face down so they wouldnt spread so much.

No hard lumps.
So odd....I had a fever, took some tylenol, but later on that night back to no fever....chills gone, and felt normal.
Maybe it was just exhaustion!
