Sleeping
What side do you sleep on? I've been told the left side is best. After my episode the other day with almost fainting I heard that sleeping on your back could cause low blood pressure. I will be 15 weeks and I like to sleep on my stomach, when should I stop doing that?

Re: Sleeping
I sleep on my left, however I'm a belly sleeper too. I slept on my belly until my belly didn't let me sleep that way anymore. I found laying on my side/half belly with a pillow propped under me helped a lot. I feel like I am still sleeping on my belly somewhat, but I'm not.

Re: Sleeping
I switch all night from left to right. Now that I am near the end, 37 weeks, my back and hips get tired if I stay on one side too long......even with using the pregnancy pillow

Re: Sleeping
I switch all the time but I am still able to sleep on my tummy comfy. Lately though I have been waking up in the middle of the night from switching so much though but I find that my right is the most comfy

Sleeping
I just spoke to my doctor about this on Monday. She said sleeping on your left side is ideal, so try to start out that way. If you wake up on your back or on your belly, it's ok. Your body will tell you when it's no longer comfortable.

I'm mostly a belly sleeper and still can sleep that way at 22 weeks so I'm happy about that. I also go back and forth on my right and left all night long. I find sleeping on my left is more comfortable then sleeping on my right though.

Re: Sleeping
I start on my right and then each time I get up to use the bathroom I switch sides, so throughout the night I go form right to left to right to left. I can't sleep on my belly anymore, and never have been a side sleeper so this is the only way I can do it!!!

Sleeping
I was thinking about this, this morning...I was told to sleep on my left side, but I always find myself tossing and turning bc now I'm starting to get sore just laying on my left side all night! So annoying!

Sleeping
Whatever side I can get some sleep on. If I am on my left, my hips hurt so much more than when I'm on my right. I asked the same questions, and basically I was told the important thing is to get sleep, which I am still struggling with.

Re: Sleeping
Sleeping on my back makes me loose my breath. I sleep on either side with a pillow between my legs. I sleep on both because I wake up in pain after being on one side for too long.

I switch...I could sleep on my stomach but the baby kicks when I do that so I have to stay straight on my side. Sometimes I go on my back for a few minutes just to stretch

Re: Sleeping
I didn't know about back sleeping & low blood pressure! I guess I'll have to avoid it since that's a problem for me too. I've been sleeping either on my back or if side sleeping I start out on my left and half the time I turn on my right side in the middle of the night (most likely to turn away from DH's snoring!

Re: Sleeping
I try to stay on my left more, but I switch. My issue is just trying to stay off my back... i was a back sleeper before being pregnant.

Sleeping
I toss and turn. My left causes me to cramp she shifts all the way to the left its uncomfortable. If I sleep on my back too long my shoulders hurt and my boobs are so heavy that right side causes my arm to fall asleep. Needless to say sleeping is fun.

My doctor told me it was best to sleep on my left side but that the right was ok if I had to... and to stop sleeping on my back once I got further into the 2nd tri.
