BH Contractions at 19 weeks?
Normal or cause for concern?
My OB keeps harping on the fear of preterm labor with twins, so I'm nervous. I've been having BH contractions all afternoon and they're literally taking my breath away. Should I call my OB?

Re: BH Contractions at 19 weeks?
With my 1st I had real contractions at 18 weeks and with this one I started having BH at like 20 weeks. I think its normal. Call your doc if you feel concerned.

Re: BH Contractions at 19 weeks?
I have had them since like 18 weeks. I just asked my doc at 20 weeks and she said its totally normal. The only thing is they are not that painful to me, just very uncomfortable and last a few minutes.

Re: BH Contractions at 19 weeks?
Thanks ladies! They aren't painful at all, but I just feel like my lungs are being squeezed if that make sense. I just drank a ton of water and am going to lay down. I'm going to wait it out an hour or so and call my OB if it continues.

This happens to me! I get BH that I can feel up into my chest! I asked my OB last week and he said it can happen! I am 20 weeks and I've been getting for like 2 weeks now.

That's exactly it! I feel like my stomach is in my chest... it's so bizarre. I'm so glad that other people have experienced this. It makes me feel way better! I'm still going to keep an eye on it and call my OB if they continue.

Technically your stomach is in your chest :) but I know that feeling. That's why I brought it up to my OB, but he said it can def happen. I need to drink more water, I do not drink nearly enough :(

LOL You know what I mean! I guess the fact that the babies are pushing all of my organs way up is not helping. I'm feeling much better now... I think it definitely had to do with not drinking enough water. I need to drink more, too!

Re: BH Contractions at 19 weeks?
Call the dr! I had minor ones steadily and went to l&d. The rule of thumb is less than 5 mins apart for a singleton you wait an hour. Twins- You dont wait. Mine began at about 19 but it was more when I was getting out of the car or on my feet too much.

Yes water helps. I'd get them here and there but if I got 2 in a row I'd lay down and drink lots of water. Usually went away.
