Can you refinance with an open permit?
I'm in the middle of refinancing and I just received a call about an open permit I have on my house. I was told that I can't close until I have my final CO.In order to do this, it was take a while.
However, I refinanced back in 2009 and this wasn't an issue then even though the permit was opened then.
Any thoughts or experiences on this?
The permit is for a family room we added on.
ETA...we never closed out the permit b/c we were considering putting in a pool and didn't want to get additional surverys.

the bank can't give value to the family room with out the c/o- so yes you need to close it
same bank?
things are a bit stricter now- everyones a$$ is on the line in the mortgage biz

Yes, same bank. This sucks... I hope the CO issue won't take awhile. Is it 60 days from application?

I had an open permit on the inground pool we installed.
When I refinanced, they told me to close it.
It wasnt bad to get it closed. They came and inspected and that was it. It didnt hold up anything.
