Open Permit on Title when Refinancing??
I am freaking out right now.
We are refinancing our house, and got the clear to close today. This is the house I grew up in (my parents bought in 77) and my Dad signed his half of the house over to me in '01. On both of these occasions nothing came up re: permits. Turns out there is an open permit from 1949
We haven't done any additions (but we want to which is why we are refinancing) so it's not like we have anything to hide. But I'm nervous anyway! We locked in too, so time is of the essence.
Has this ever happened to anyone?
Thanks for reading

Re: Open Permit on Title when Refinancing??
1949??!!!??? Doesn't there have to be something like a statute of limitations on that, or a grandfathering clause of some kind to ignore it? (I'm pulling at straws here).
What do they say this 1949 permit was for?

i know. I want to cry! The whole thing is redic. I have to call the building department tomorrow and set up an appointment with the inspector. I'm hoping it goes smoothly bc I don't want our rate to expire!

Re: Open Permit on Title when Refinancing??
I wish *I* could get a 60 year permit! I have to pay for each year I want to extend our current permit, and there is a limit to the number of renewals before I would have to resubmit for a new permit....
