Help! Our bathroom is so cold!
We just redid our master bath and it's beautiful. But it is freezing! We only have a small radiator in there and the contractor built a custom box around it with a metal grate, so it doesn't radiate as much heat as the ugly metal radiator we used to have. The other issue is, we had a light with attached exhaust installed in the shower. It looks great, but the downside is it sucks up all the nice heat and steam. Yes, I know thats exactly what it's meant to do. What can we do to make the room warmer? Should we not turn the exhaust light on? Any other things you can think of?

Re: Help! Our bathroom is so cold!
do you have room to install a heated electric towel rack? maybe that would help?
or maybe add one of those heat lamps?
do you have baseboard heating in your house? could you add baseboard in the bathroom?

I have the same problem.
If you have the wall space, they make flat panel electric fireplaces - I'm looking into that for our bathroom. The also have the wall mounted gel FPs but I figure the electric would be easier to operate.
It also helps if we sleep with the bathroom door open at night, the heat from our bedroom warms it up quite a bit actually so it's not as frigid in the AM.

We have the same exact problem! We just bought this house last summer and it was built in 2006 so the mbr is beautiful but freaking freezing. Currently we use a small portable heater but are thinking about changing the floor to radiant heat.

I'm thinking about the towel rack. We have nowhere or a heat lamp because we have a beautiful tray ceiling with a chandelier, there would be nowhere to put it. And there is baseboard, it just doesn't seem to give off much heat.

We put an exhaust/heater/lighting unit in our upstairs bathroom. There are 3 switches. 1 for each function. I always put the heater on when I'm in there. It's instant heat being blown into the bathroom.

Re: Help! Our bathroom is so cold!
Can the exhaust fan/ light be put on seperate switches? We did that with hours so we don't turn on the fan while we are in the shower, only when we get out. We eliminated some of the original baseboard and made the bathroom bigger but we added radiant heat to compensate. We have an electric towel warmer in one of our other bathrooms and it does throw off heat.
