Bath fitter....
We are thinking about doing a bath fitter in the bathroom I mentioned before. It could use a facelift but it is our only bathroom and I just don't have it in me, with kids, to gut the shower and be bathroom less.
Have you done this? Who did you use? Do you like it, and if you don't mind sharing, about how much did it end up costing?
Thanks!

Bath fitter....
my advice? don't do it!!!
we have one the previous owners put in, and water gets trapped underneath-it's awful, and we're having to gut our bathroom because of it

Re: Bath fitter....
My friend had it done in her two rental apartments - she wound up having to rip it out and do traditional tile. Caused nothing but headaches (and leaks into her own apartment) from the bad fit. Don't do it.

Re: Bath fitter....
Read reviews online. As Kayla mentioned, water gets stuck in between and underneath. DH and I considered it for a hot minute but the reviews I read were horrible. I've also spoken with a couple of plumbers about it and they said to stay far away from it!

our exact situation! And we have one bathroom as well so we are going to have to get it re-tiled and fixed- hopefully there wont be any mold when they rip it out because that will really skyrocket the price

Re: Bath fitter....
I used BathFitter in my co-op... it is actually very expensive. It would have been cheaper for me to replace the tub. They quoted me close the $4K for the full tub and wall enclosure... I did just the tub for like $900. I ended up gutting the entire bathroom and really wished I had not ordered it, cause I should really have just replaced the tub
I actually never had any issue with the water getting under it, but the bottom was never flush to the floor of the old tub.... there were spot you would step and it would click cause there was space between the bathfitter and tub.

Re: Bath fitter....
It sometimes depends on where you are located with Bath Fitter, but they have a lifetime guarantee too.
Each office is a franchise and though the product is the same, the installation may not always be as good.
I had a great experience with them back in 2005 (got a tub liner over my tub) and loved it, and I'm in Central PA.
The guarantee is for life on what they install--that's why I got it and the other people complaining on here might not know that Bath Fitter really does back their product!
