Re: Who has had a bath fitter put in?
When we bought our house we had one in the bathroom and we hated it. It turned yellow from the sun and it lifted off the wall. Of course, we dont know how it was installed and, as many other things we discovered in our house, the previous owner half a$$ed a lot of things. We thought about getting a new one installed correctly but after pricing them out, we found them to be the same price or, in some occassions, more expensive then doing tile.

I had bath fitters come to give us an estimate for our bathroom when we lived in our co-op. They quoted us 8,000 dollars.
I got my bathroom sheetrocked and tiled...brand new fixtures, tub and toilet for about 5,000.
They're way overpriced.

there is one in our house, it was here when we bought it. It looks nice, but I would much rather have a regular new tub with real tile on the walls. I guess it depends on what you are looking for. For a quick fix, i'm sure it's fine. If you want to redo the whole bath I'd say do a regular replacement.
