too many places for the baby to sleep
I am very overwhelmed
We live in a 2 bedroom condo, so we have some room, but not an insane amount of space.
When registering I am coming across the bouncy seat, the swing, the rock n play, the bassinet, etc etc etc.
Do I need them all!??!?!

Rock n play replaces a bassinet. You can move it from your room to living room easily. I'd get a swing because it helps baby sleep. In hindsight I probably should have gotten that summer infant activity seat thing instead of bouncer. It's a booster seat too for feeding.

Definitely get the rock n play (DD slept in it in our room for about 6 months), and the swing. We had a bouncer too, but only because we have two floors and kept it downstairs. If we didn't, I'd have skipped it.

Re: too many places for the baby to sleep
I wouldn't think of the bouncy and swing as a place for them to sleep.
Its a place to put them when they are awake to be entertained.

Re: too many places for the baby to sleep
TY all! I am going to skip the bassinet and definitely go for the others. I asked my moms opinion and she had no clue because she had never heard of any of the things I mentioned

too many places for the baby to sleep
Thank you for asking this. We are in a 2 bedroom co-op and I wasn't sure what to do. We have room but id rather just get a couple things rather then all things. I did find a bouncer that is also a swing so I might get that. Reviews seem pretty good on it too. Its the Gracco Sweetpeace. Buy buy baby has it.

Re: too many places for the baby to sleep
Thanks for asking this. I'm beyond confused about this stuff. Let me see if I got this straight.....The baby can sleep in the RNP up to 6 months and the RNP essentially replaces the bassinet?
Some other questions:
What is a swing for, just to hang in while they're awake?
Does the baby move into the crib at 6 months?

This will be my first, but I have seen plenty of babies sleeping in both their swing and their bouncers, especially in the first few months. This is one of the reasons I am so confused!! lol

Let me try to break it down, I know it’s very confusing. Rock n Play – like a bassinet, but IMO way more useful. Baby can sleep right next to your bed for however long you want. We kept her in there for 6 months, that’s when she started to outgrow it, but we prob should’ve transitioned her to her crib sooner. That’s up to you. And the best part about it is that you can fold it up and take it with you anywhere. It’s awesome. Swing/bouncer – these are really for them to chill/nap in. You really don’t need both, esp. if not enough room is an issue.

Re: too many places for the baby to sleep
I can't comment on the rock n play since I never had one. I do sing the praises of the bouncy seat though. It's nice to have the baby propped up (before they can sit up well) so you can interact with them face to face. Its a safe spot to sit the baby when there's older children and a dog around (as opposed to the floor). I even used it in the bathroom while I showered. It's easily portable from room to room.
The swing wasn't a hit in our house as neither of my kids liked it. It just took up a big footprint of floor space.

I have a small house. I used (and will be again) that papsan(?) vibrating chair. My DD did not like the swing (and it took up a lot of room) and we put her right into her crib (she didnt like pack n play nor the bassinet). I also like that stationary walker thingy for when she got older.

Re: too many places for the baby to sleep
the bouncer seat has always been a toy for us. DD uses the swing for naps alot! They do have space saver options. I liked the RNP better than the bassinet. Much more portable and keeps newborns elevated which is good for reflux.
ETA: you can skip the bassinet set up altogether and put baby right into crib. But I still think the RNP is a great option for travel. We brought it with us to a superbowl party for DD to sleep in when she got tired.
