Washer with out w/o an agitator?

I have one and I LOVE it..it's basically a front loader, but really a top loader, if that makes sense..it holds a LARGE load and cleans SO well..I am very happy with my agitator-less washer..

Re: Washer with out w/o an agitator?

I had to replace both my washer and dryer because of Sandy.

For my new ones, I went w/o, and front loading.

I feel like it's easier to fit in large bulky items like pillows and large comforters.

My old machine was a top loader with the agitator and it broke once, probably related to overloading/big items.

I do laundry daily and a lot of heavier stuff (DH works outside in construction) and I am very happy with my choice.

The new models also get the clothes very clean.

Re: Washer with out w/o an agitator?

I finally had to replace my washer/dryer last fall...I now have a front loader w/o an agitator and I'm happy with it. The salesman convinced me to go with a front loader because they use so much less water per load.

we have a top loader w/no agitator, its a high efficiency washer so its suposed to use less water. so far no problems. we have the maytag bravos washer/dryer set.

I have a top loader whirlpool cabrio series. No agitator and we are very happy with it. Has no agitator. But the top lock during the initial fill. You can't throw in that dock you dropped halfway down the stairs.

I have both an LG front loader (steam washer) and an LG top loader (4.7 cu ft) and I prefer the top loader.

I have a top loader without an agitator. I love it so far...the only thing I noticed is the clothes get a bit more wrinkled but only an issue for things I don't dry.

Re: Washer with out w/o an agitator?

We bought a top loader washer (Whirlpool) with an agitator. My parents have the Cabrio without it, and although it works fine, I read many reviews were they said washers with agitators do a better job in cleaning than those without. I didnt want to take any chances so just bought the model with the agitator.

We also have a very narrow staircase and our dryer was 2 inches wider than our old one - the delivery guys had to take apart the back panel from the dryer to get it down into our basement, and then they re-assembled it down there. Our washer was exactly the same proportion as our old one, and we made sure not to buy a bigger one because if the delivery/installation guys couldn't get it down the stairs, we would have had to return it.

We had no issues with the washers. It was one of my dryers (LG 9 cu ft) that required us to remove the whole door jam to our basement.

Re: Washer with out w/o an agitator?

I would agree that washers without agitators can definitely fit larger loads and, in my opinion, they do a better job of cleaning. The Commercial Laundry machines at my apartment don't have the agitator and it's cut down on my time in the laundry room significantly.

We have the Cabrio as well and just got it in January. We can add things after starting and it locks. You just hit the start button again and after a few seconds it unlocks.
