warming formula - ventaire bottles
how do you do it? we are currently using RTF Alimentum and heating bottles at 3am is a PITA. Is there a better way besides sticking a bottle in a cup of hot water for 4-5 minutes?
Would it be bad to use powder for night feedings, just for ease of bottle making? Will that totally mess with DD?
Im worried about her screaming while waiting for her bottle to warm and waking my 2.5 year old

I may have been lazy...but my work schedule was insane and I was trying to figure out a way to make the night easier.
Sometimes I would bring a bottle to my room with water in it and put it on my nightstand. I'd keep a little pack of the formula powder nearby and quickly make a bottle in the middle of the night.
Later on, as they got older, I would keep a cooler with a bottle in it ready to go.
Never had an issue.
Even now I keep juice boxes and bottles of water in my bedroom for when my oldest complains that he needs something to drink if he wakes up in the middle of the night a little thirsty.
Just makes life easier!

get the 8 oz cans and keep them in your room at room temperature. when its time for her to eat at night, open a can and use as much as you need. put the rest in the fridge for during the day.

That's a great idea but how long can I leave the remaining formula in the can out? If I feed her 3 oz at 4am, can I leave the can out until the next feeding 3-5 hours later? Thought it had to go in the fridge as soon as it was opened?

I would out it directly in the fridge right after but at least if you feed two middle of the night feedings and open.two cans, you will use them in the 24 hours.

Good idea! Yeah you need to refridgerate them. they are good for a few days though so just use it for the next few bottles.
We STILL use the cup of water and fear one will wake the other. Difference is the other will be up and eating right after anyway.

Bottled water and powdered formula always worked for my son. No need to warm it. I kept it next to the bed...

You have to put it in the fridge after opening but the open bottles are good up to 48 hrs so you can use the open bottles during the day and the unopened ones at night

I have a bottle warmer that had something to keep the bottle cold. Could you use that and switch it to heat when needed. I never really used it so am unsure how it works.

i found this tommy tippee portable thermos that keeps water warm for hours and hours. I just wish I found it earlier cause DD will not take a room temp bottle. I either take up a bottle with powder and pour in the warm water for instant feed or it has a cover that is for warming the bottle I put a cold bottle that I have in a cooler bag in there with the hot water and warm it. I like the first way better its less time and shes fine with it.

DD wouldn't take room temp powdered formula. When she was a newborn we'd change her while it heated up and give her a pacifier until it was ready. We used a bottle warmer and a small bottle (2-3 ozs we'd warm for 2 minutes.
