Semen anaylsis
The doctor recommended that DH go for a SA. She told me that DH should go to our primary care doctor for the script (she said she couldn't write one for him). She also recommended to start with our PC rather than a Urologist to facilitate the insurance process. Does this seem right??
My question, Do I need to know the lab I want to use before seeing PC? Does anyone know of a reputable lab in the Smithtown/Commack/Hauppauge area? We have GHI insurance.
Also, I think I read that DH can do the sample at home as long as we can get it to the lab within an hour??

My ob sent DH for his SA. I would go to a urologist if they don't want to write it for you. Or see an RE. A RE will def write it for you.

If you go to an RE they do it right there in the office. Your DH can either produce there or bring it within one hour. Dont know anything about going outside of an RE office

My ob wrote the script. Before he does it make sure the lab you choose does them, many don't and he needs an appt to drop it off. Dh found both of those out the hard way.

My DH went to a urologist. It did what was needed at home and then dashed to the office for drop off

My RE had my DH come in and do it- today actually. He had the option of dropping it off or doing it there. So if you go to a RE you should be fine. I was stressed about the whole SA thing. It went fine today. Good luck.

My OB wrote the script but we decided we're going to a RE to have it done.
