dd sick wont sleep
My 7 1/2 month dd is sick and is having a terrible time sleeping at night. Shes up every hour and wont allow us to put her down. The moment I put her down she screams bloody murder. So we end up lettig her sleep on us for comfort and for us to get some sleep. The first night it bought us a 3 hour stretch. Last night it didnt buy us anything. Im exhausted and feeling so crappy.
I know shes sick and looking for comfort but im scared once shes feeling better she wont go back on her routine. Has anyone experienced this?
She doesnt use a paci for soothing. Can anyone suggest anything else to soothe her besides sleeping on us?

I was ALWAYS worried about DD not going back to her routine, but she always did. She pretty much got what she wanted in the sleep dept. when she was sick.
Are you giving your DC any pain meds? I found a little tylenol went a LONG way, especially overnight.

My dd is 8.5 months, sick too and did the same to me two nights ago....last night gave her a little Tylenol and she slept straight thru. Gl

Ive given her tylenol and shes still waking every hour. She takes longer naps during the day. And shes soo clingy at times during the day that she wont even play with her toys unless im sitting right next to her. i know this is my job as her mother but i just want like 2 minutes to myself. Even just to eat. :-/

Is it a cold that she has? My dd never used a paci either. If she is congested use a vaporizer in her room and some Vicks. That always helped my dd sleep a little easier at night on top of some Tylenol or Motrin.

When my DS is sick my DH sleeps next to his crib. Sometimes he even puts his hands through the rails so he knows he is there. We have also elevated the mattress with books when he is congested. I try as hard as I can to keep him in the crib. It took us 6 months to get him in there the first time!

This. Totally.
All bets are off when my DD is sick. But as soon as she feels better, she goes right back to her normal routines without any issue.

could be fluid in the ears or congestion or whatever..
I held mine in my arms and she and I slept as I sat in the chair in her room.
She always went back to her routine. But it was worth sleep for both of us. Spent my share of nights sleeping while sitting up. I dont regret them at all. She needs her sleep to feel better and I need sleep to care for her.
