What's up with the gel inside the diapers
We have been using pampers swaddles. I know they have gel in them to make the line turn blue or whatever. This last pack I got every time she pees the diaper expand like 2x it's size and so squishy. Could I have a defective batch?

Lol no I know I know the pee can do that but this is the first batch I bought that's doing that on EVERY pee. In the past the diaper would still be thin after she pees.

I don't know what that is, but she's 10 lbs and these are supposed to go up to 14 lbs so that's what I was going by.
What's the blurry line indicator?

What's up with the gel inside the diapers
The gel is what makes the diaper absorbent. They are little beads of absorbency. They expand when they fill up with liquid because they are holding it all. As long as she isn't peeing/pooping out of her diaper, there is no reason to move up a size.

Id say most of the time they do this. I always brace myself for a poopy diaper because its mushy. Lol. My girls are probably somewhere btwn 10-11 lbs too.

Which is why I wont use Pampers. I stuck with Huggies after that. Especially after the Dry Max drama. Yuck!

I switched from Swaddlers to Luvs and have not gone back. I like them much better. Maybe I am nus but with the Swaddlers I smelt a chemical on them I did not like after a while. It could be time to go up a size. I did, when DS was ten lbs. even though it says it could hold more weight.

Exactly. It's not harmful
I have actually had them explode when they got too wet and the gel leak out.
Huge mess to clean up off the rug but never caused an issue.

You probably got a box with too much gel.
I tried some size 2 swaddlers sensitive and they are MUCH fuller and squishier than the size 1's. We're not leaving them on any longer and it's not that she's peeing more. I am still using up some size 1's and they aren't as full of gel. (DD is still underweight for size 2's and they're huge on her waist, but the size 1's seem a bit small). I'm going to try some other brands to find a better fit and I hope they have less gel too.

They can get quite big and squishy. When that happens I know it's time to change it before she poops. Usually she's changed before it gets like that but in the mornings usually it's quite full. Also, different times of the day she tends to pee more. A little bit of pee will change the line color but I don't change it every half hour as soon as the line changes. Pampers have been my favorite. And FYI, I switched to size 2 when she was 10lbs. It was leaving red marks and pretty soon she was starting to leak. I take the numbers on the box as an estimation. As she gets closer to the weight limit I start to buy the next size and use the larger ones at night. We had her in size 2 for awhile and then size 2 during the day and size 3 at night. Now she's just in size 3  She's growing up too quickly!

I started noticing the same thing about 2 weeks sgo but I think ite bc they are peeing more so I t gets fuller.
And its not as bad as it was for huggies which left gel beads on their butts!
